DVD Upscaling
With this player, there’s no need to upgrade your DVD collection for improved picture quality, because the unit does it for you. It upscales DVDs to near-HD quality, so you can see them in high definition. It also features interlaced-to-progressive noise reduction, so you get the smoothest picture possible from your interlaced entertainment source materials.
Mobile Device Control
If you download the “Media Remote” app for your iPhone, iPad or compatible Android phone, you can control this player with your mobile device. This gives you a full QWERTY keyboard, and you can also search for information about the movies you watch on YouTube, Wikipedia Twitter and BRAVIA internet video services.
Gracenote ID
With an internet connection, you can get additional information about the movie you’re watching with the Gracenote service. See details like cast listings, genre and jacket art displayed on your TV screen. Access certain internet apps as well including YouTube and Qriocity to find entertainment.
USB Input
The two USB ports (1 in the front, 1 in the rear) let you connect your digital camera, camcorder, USB storage device or USB-enabled MP3 player. Display photos, videos or listen to music on your TV. The front-oriented USB is perfect for plugging in devices quickly, without reaching to the back of the unit.
High Resolution Audio
The BDP-S380 features a built-in decoder for high resolution audio formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD (Master Audio and High Resolution Audio). This allows premium sound reproduction for up to 7.1 channels of discrete, high quality audio that will add the extra edge to your favorite movies.
