Features
3.5-inch touchscreen display: The iPod touch featured a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The capacitive touchscreen display made it much easier to navigate the iPod touch’s user interface.
Wi-Fi connectivity: The iPod touch 3rd generation included Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g). This allowed users to browse the internet, download apps from the App Store, and stream music and videos.
Music player: The iPod touch 3rd generation was a great music player. It could store up to 7000 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format on the 32GB model. It also supported a variety of audio formats, including AAC, MP3, WAV, and AIFF.
Video playback: The iPod touch 2nd generation could also play videos. It supported H.264 and MPEG-4 video formats up to 480p resolution. However, the video storage capacity was limited on the 8GB model, so it wasn’t ideal for storing a large collection of videos.
App Store: The iPod touch 3rd comes with Appstore. Users can download a wide variety of apps, including games, social media apps, and productivity apps. While the App Store wasn’t nearly as vast as it is today, it was still a game-changer for the iPod touch.
Compact and portable design: The iPod touch 3rd generation was very compact and portable. It measured 4.2 inches tall, 2.4 inches wide, and 0.33 inches thin. It also weighed just 3.6 ounces. This made it easy to slip into a pocket or purse and take it anywhere.
Voice Control: With Voice Control, you can navigate and interact with your device using your voice to tap, swipe, type and more.
Faster Chipset and More RAM: Comes with faster chipset found in iPhone 3GS with 256MB RAM.
