The Xperia X10 Mini is a full touchscreen handset by Sony Ericsson. The smartphone uses the Android 1.6 (Donut) operating system platform to run multitude of functions, and can be upgraded to Android 2.1 (Eclair). A 600 MHz ARM11 processor powers this Sony phone.
This Sony Ericsson device features a 2.55-inch screen with resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Xperia X10 Mini sports the Sony Ericsson Timescape that integrates all your text messages, missed calls, updates on Facebook and Twitter and brings them at one place – your homescreen.
The smartphone has an interactive music player with Infinite button that makes your search easier by pulling in content from music store and You Tube.
The Sony handset is loaded with a 5 megapixel camera that has auto focus and LED flash features. The camera can record videos and has video light feature. This camera also comes with geo-tagging feature.
Design
The Xperia X10 Mini has a compact design with a slightly curvy appearance. The front of the phone is glossy while the rest of the phone body has matte covering. There are 3 physical keys below the touchscreen, with volume and camera key on the right side and power button on top.
The screen of the device employs TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and scratch-resistant surface. The phone features an accelerometer for auto rotation of the UI.
Storage and Battery
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini ships with 128 MB of internal memory. The memory can be expanded up to 16 GB by loading a memory card in the microSD card slot. The phone uses a standard Li-Po 950 mAh battery that serves talk time of 4 hours in 2G network and 3 hours in 3G network.
Connectivity and Features
The Internet connectivity on the phone is achieved through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and 3G. Connector terminals present in the Xperia X10 Mini include Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone has access to Android market that allows you to download various applications as per your choice.
The music player of the Xperia X10 Mini comes with Track ID music recognition feature wherein just by recording a few seconds of any song, you can have the full information on track, artist and album sent to your phone in seconds.
Additionally, this Sony Ericsson smartphone has A-GPS, Exchange ActiveSync, and NeoReader barcode scanner. The Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync via RoadSync client brings all your corporate Outlook e-mails, attachments, calendar and contacts to the Xperia X10 Mini phone. With the NeoReader application, the camera turns into a barcode scanner. You can scan any barcode and have the information of the product on your handset without the need of browsing for the content on Internet.
